Should You List Extra Work On Your Acting Resume?
Should you list extra work on your acting resume? In this video, I share two ideas about whether listing extra work can help or hurt your career as an actor. Extra work doesn’t necessarily showcase your acting skills – you could be one of hundreds or thousands in a crowd scene. However, I’ll share how I turned extra work into on-camera upgrades by using my acting training, and explain the ONE situation where listing background work might make sense. Even if you’re just beginning and building your acting resume from scratch, this video will help you make smarter choices about what casting directors and agents actually want to see on your resume. Watch to the end and learn 3 ways you can get film (principal, not extra) auditions. 🎬 WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- Why extra work doesn’t necessarily demonstrate acting ability • When background acting can lead to upgrades • The only time you should list extra work on your resume • How to get film auditions to build a stronger resume
HAVE YOU EVER DONE EXTRA WORK? If you have done extra work, what specifically did you do? Did you get a chance to really act? Please share your experience on the channel so we can learn from you.
