Alysa Liu’s Olympic win was totally due to her mindset. It is the same way of thinking that actors need to use when auditioning for film, TV or TV commercials. Alysa, walked away from skating
at age 16. Four years later, she decided to return to the sport on her terms. Her technique was still amazing. But, it was her new approach to skating that showed in every moment of her performance. This is the exact same mindset that I share with every actor I coach.
Alysa completely shifted her goals during the Olympics. She never tried or cared about winning a medal. Her goal was to simply enjoy herself! All she wanted to do was share her artistry and skills with the world and have fun performing. That is exactly what actors need to be thinking. Not booking the job, but enjoying the few minutes we get to portray a character.
What you’ll learn In This Video:
- How Alysa Liu’s mindset made her stand apart from the other skaters
- How this mindset should be used by actors when auditioning
- Why this mindset will make actors’ auditions more memorable and powerful
