Four years into my acting career, I told other actors I wanted to break into New York. Several of them immediately warned me: “You’ll just get your heart broken. They already have so many talented actors there. Don’t bother wasting your time.”

I almost listened. But then I realized something that changed everything about how I viewed advice from other actors and people in general.

This video is about recognizing when another actor’s “concern” is actually about THEIR fear, not your reality. Because here’s what I’ve learned: I could live with not succeeding in New York. What I couldn’t live with was never trying.
